ArmMate vs Flippy: which fits your kitchen.

Both names show up when a kitchen looks for help at the fryer. They are different kinds of companies. This page says what each one is, and leaves the choice to the station you actually run.

An ArmMate cell: a 6-axis cobot over an existing fryer.

ArmMate

ArmMate is an integrator in Irvine, Orange County. We retrofit a standard 6-axis cobot onto the fryer you already have. Brands we integrate are Fairino, Duco, and Dobot. We assess the station, install the arm, train the crew, and support the cell on site after go-live.

ArmMate systems start at $19,000 plus installation. You own the robot. There is no lease and no long-term financing commitment. A full one-year warranty includes parts. Service plans add guaranteed support and are affordable.

The cell works with the fryer you already have. You do not need to buy new fry equipment or redo the kitchen. A site assessment confirms fit. If the fryer, the floor, or the menu is a poor fit, we say so.

Flippy

Flippy Fry Station is a product of Miso Robotics. On Miso's public product page, Miso describes Flippy as built to fit around existing fryers, and names Frymaster, Henny Penny, and Pitco as models it can work with. Miso says a representative checks compatibility on a site survey.

Publicly reported figures describe Flippy as Robots-as-a-Service, a monthly subscription, roughly in the range of $3,500 to $5,000 per month. The full system price has been reported at around $75,000, and most operators lease it rather than buy. Those are reports, not figures ArmMate has verified.

That is Miso's description of its own product, plus public reports of pricing. ArmMate has not tested Flippy and does not speak for Miso.

Miso figures are approximate, based on public reports, and may have changed. Check with Miso Robotics for current pricing. Fortune reported a Flippy rental of $3,500 per month in 2022. The system-price figure is from public reports, not a price ArmMate verified.

Support after you own an ArmMate cell is on the service plans page. The Standard plan is listed there.

How to choose

Start with ownership and the lower starting cost. ArmMate systems start at $19,000 plus installation, and you own the robot. There is no lease and no long-term financing commitment. Flippy is typically a lease or a Robots-as-a-Service subscription. Publicly reported figures put that subscription roughly at $3,500 to $5,000 per month. If you want a local Orange County integrator to put a standard 6-axis cobot on the fryer you already run, with install, crew training, and on-site service, start with ArmMate. A site assessment confirms fit. If you want Miso's Flippy Fry Station, talk to Miso. A kitchen can look at both.
